Where are my notes stored, and are they private?
In your browser, in localStorage. Nothing is sent to a server and there is no account. That also means the notes live in this browser on this device: clearing site data removes them, so export important notes as .md, .html or .txt files.
Which Markdown syntax does the live preview support?
Headings, paragraphs, bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, fenced code blocks with syntax highlighting, links, images, bullet and numbered lists, task lists, blockquotes and horizontal rules. Raw HTML tags are shown as text, so a pasted snippet with angle brackets is displayed exactly as written.
How does regex search and replace work?
Open Search, tick Regular expression, and type a JavaScript pattern such as TODO:\s*(.+). Capture groups can be reused in the replacement with $1, $2 and so on. Untick the option to search for the literal text instead, and use Case sensitive to distinguish Error from error.
How do I restore a previous version of a note?
Open the clock icon. Each note keeps its own history: a snapshot is taken automatically every two minutes when the text has changed, and you can take one manually with Snapshot now before a big edit. Click a snapshot to put its content back into the note.
Can I use it as a rich text editor?
Yes. Switch the note to HTML mode to get a WYSIWYG editor with bold, italic, underline, code, headings, lists and links. Markdown notes stay Markdown; each tab remembers its own mode, and the export gives you .html, .md or plain .txt.
